Watch out! The summer heat can affect your veins

Summer is the perfect opportunity to wear light clothes, enjoy outdoor activities, and receive Vitamin D directly from the sun.

However, summer is also the time when more Spider Veins appear and the condition of Varicose Veins may worsen.

The reason being that the sun’s rays can weaken the upper layers of the skin, decreasing its moisture and elasticity. As a result, the veins fail to maintain normal blood flow, causing it to accumulate and stagnate.

High temperatures

The high temperatures also contribute to worsening this condition because the heat causes the blood vessels to expand and put more pressure on the valves, producing blood accumulation and causing the appearance of spider veins and varicose veins.

“Varicose veins are a medical condition that has a solution, do not let it ruin your plans this summer.”

If you want to fully enjoy this season without neglecting the health of your veins, consider the following:

  • Use sunscreen and moisturizer with high SPF, not only on the legs but also on the face and nose, where the skin is thinner and Vascular Spiders could develop.
  • If you are on the beach or outdoors for long periods of time, drink water constantly.
  • Try to use compression stockings on days when you are not exposed to the sun.
  • Instead of high-heeled shoes, opt for summer sandals that allow blood from your legs to pump effectively.
